*The Iberians, who inhabited the Iberian peninsula (modern-day Spain and Portugal) before and during the Roman conquest, were a diverse group with distinct cultures and societies. As Rome expanded its influence and control over the Iberian peninsula from the 3rd to the 1st centuries BC, many Iberians, including women, were captured and enslaved. These women were taken to various parts of the Roman Empire, where they were integrated into Roman society as slaves. Enslaved Iberian women often became domestic servants in Roman households. They would perform tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and caring for the children of their Roman masters. Some Iberian women were put to work on Roman estates, particularly in rural areas, where they labored in the fields or vineyards.
Like other enslaved women from conquered regions, Iberian women could be taken as concubines by Roman men. Iberian women likely had physical characteristics typical of Mediterranean populations. This might include olive or tan skin, dark hair, and dark eyes. However, the Iberian peninsula was home to various ethnic groups, and there may have been some diversity in appearance, including lighter skin and hair among those of Celtic or other Indo-European descent. Iberian women often styled their hair in braids or wore it loose, depending on regional customs. (https://www.deviantart.com/ala-ad-dinxxl)
